In the first issue of the Quarterly (March 1953) we listed the names of persons named Sparks who appeared on the 1790 census of Pennsylvania, with the enumeration of the household of each. In the issue of September 1976 (Whole No. 95, p. 1854) we presented a listing of Sparkses appearing on the 1800 census of Pennsylvania. Here we give a listing of Sparks families as copied from the 1830 census of Pennsylvania. As noted on page 1880, in the introduction to the 1830 census of Georgia, no federal census prior to that for 1850 gave more than the name of the head of each household. The rest of the family, including everyone that happened to be living in the household on the day that the census taker called., was enumerated by sex and by age group. For suggestions regarding possible interpretations that one can make from these records, please note the introduction to the 1830 Georgia census on page 1880.
